FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Scout Island Scream Park?
What is Scout Island Scream Park? A Halloween Festival For The Whole Family created by the Creators of The Mortuary Haunted Mansion and New Orleans City Park Featuring… – Three Haunted Attractions: The Devil’s Swamp Terror Tour, Zombie Outbreak Battlefield, and The Scream Factory Haunted Fun House – Three Fright Zones: Cirque du Fear, Blood Bayou, and The Horseman’s Fright Zones – Carnival Thrill Rides, Music, Food and a Scare-Free Kids Zone with a Haunted Hay Ride, Face Painting, and Hay Bail Maze. The 160+ year-old island incorporates about 50 acres of naturally landscaped property including foreboding woods, surreal lagoons, dark swamps, ancient oak trees and more.
Where is the entrance to Scout Island Scream Park?
The entrance is very close to the corner of Marconi Dr. & Harrison Ave. Look for the pedestrian bridge crossing the lagoon on Magnolia to enter the island.
Are there attractions and rides for kids at Scout Island Scream Park? What are the details?
We feature a KID ZONE just for kids! The KID ZONE is an area for families to bring younger kids to celebrate Halloween with face painting, a pumpkin patch to hand select their favorite pumpkin for decorating, a hay bail maze, bounce house, kids entertainment, and featuring a red and white stripped high peak tent at it’s center. Guests can board one of our old fashioned tractor pulled hay wagons for an adventure through the wooded swamp perimeter for a non-scary hay ride called The Haunted Hayride. The entire area is bordered with a 3ft wooden picket fence for safety. This area is generally open until dark when the event becomes scarier.
Is the event appropriate for all ages?
We have fun things to do for all ages. It is recommended that younger kids attend earlier hours rather than later hours. As the night descends upon the park, the creatures of the night emerge. The haunted attractions are intense and intended for age 13+ audiences. Kids can play in the Scare-Free Zones while others can ride the rides and explore the haunts. Parents can enjoy a drink and listen to music or grab fun stuff to eat. Some attractions may not be appropriate for some younger guests. We leave it up to the parents to decide the appropriateness of the attractions for their children. None of the attractions are appropriate for pregnant women. All minors age 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult 21 years or older. Anyone 21 years or younger should be prepared to show a driver license, state ID, or passport before purchasing a ticket for entry.
How should I dress?
Much of the event is on raw land, in a natural environment. It is recommended that guests dress comfortably for the outdoors. Tennis shoes are recommended. Dress appropriately for the weather.
Where can I buy tickets?
Tickets can be bought online at our website www.ScoutIslandScreamPark.com anytime or at the Island entrance. Tickets sales on site will be available during operations hours and will stop one hour before closing. Attendance on the island and for certain attractions is limited per night and can sell out. First come first serve, so come out early!
What do I get with a GENERAL ADMISSION TICKET?
This base level ticket gets you access to the island and everything it has to offer including the Kid Zone amenities, all of the Fright Zones, The Kraken, music & entertainment. However, the carnival rides, hay ride, and haunted house attractions are not included in the cost of this ticket. Individual tickets for these attractions can be purchased on site. If you want to do everything, we recommend buying the GENERAL ADMISSION UNLIMITED ALL ACCESS TICKET.
